Next to ice hockey, football is probably the most popular sport in Canton Zug. There are about ten teams playing in different leagues. Every Friday during the football season, the Zuger Zeitung shows a portrait of a player or coach from one of these teams. In addition to the two highest ranked teams, SC Cham and Zug94, players from the Zug communities of Baar, Menzingen and Rotkeuz are also represented. No matter where they play, they are all united by their passion for sports. This series shows a cross section of photographs I took on behalf of the newspaper in the past years. Some of the people depicted are still active in Zug football, while others have continued their careers outside the canton or have already ended their careers. What remains with all of them, however, is their attachment to sport.
